B5300 Allonby, Temporary Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
ADVISORY NOTICE THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (B5300 ALLONBY) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER 2022 B5300 ALLONBY
Cumbria County Council made an order to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out carriageway works in connection with the establishment of the England coastal path ("the Works") which came into operation on 28 November 2022. The effect of the Order was to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the B5300, Allonby, from a point approx 995m north of its junction with the C2002, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 2.1km. The Works have been rescheduled and will now be carried out under the provisions of the above stated Order on 13th February 2023 and are expected to be in place for an approx. duration of 1 day, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable
alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the B5300, the A596, and the B5301. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
