Manchester Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving to Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (MANCHESTER ROAD, BOURNE STREET & ALL SAINTS ROAD, HEATON CHAPEL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Manchester Road from Reuben Street to the entrance of the retail park;
Bourne Street, at the junction with Manchester Road and All Saints Road, at the junction with Manchester Road whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary because carriageway resurfacing works are being, or are proposed to be executed. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 5 nghts. Alternative routes will be provided via:- Manchester Road – Manchester Road, Belmont Way, Wellington Road North, School lane, Manchester Road. Bourne Street – Reuben St, Stanbank Street.All Saints’ Road – Manchester road, Lloyd Street, All Saints’ Road OR Manchester Rd, Belmont Way, Belmont St, Clement St, Basil St, Lloyd St.
This Order is to come into operation on the 17 February 2023 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
