What is happening?

BOURNEMOUTH, CHRISTCHURCH AND POOLE COUNCIL NORTH STREET AND LAGLAND STREET, POOLE TOWN CENTRE -DEVELOPMENT WORKS TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make the following temporary traffic restrictions under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and the Traffic Management Act 2004:

WHERE & WHAT:

Temporary revocation of existing "no vehicles except buses and taxis' restriction

North Street Lagland Street -between North Street and Newfoundland Drive (Foundry Arms)

North Street-between Hunger Mill Green and Lagland Street Lagland Street -between North Street and Newfoundland Drive (Foundry Arms)

Lagland Street -outside number 153 High Street (Cafe Nero)

Temporary one-way system, with traffic only permitted to travel in a southeasterly direction from Towngate Bridge towards the mini-roundabout with Newfoundland Drive

Temporary revocation of at any time waiting and loading restrictions to allow for the provision of a temporary taxi rank

Temporary revocation of taxi rank

Lagland Street -south-east of number 57-61 (The Lord Wimborne)

WHEN: Monday 27 February 2023 until Thursday 29 February 2024. Timescales are indicative and may be revised if construction works are delayed.

WHY: To facilitate the re-development of number 76 Lagland Street. Construction requires a hoarding to be erected on the public highway. The temporary traffic restrictions listed above are intended to create a safe working environment whilst retaining local access for businesses and residents.

ACCESS: Full Emergency Service access will be maintained.

DIVERSION: Via Newfoundland Drive, Seldown Bridge, Kingland Road, The George Roundabout, Towngate Bridge and North Street.
