What is happening?
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic from the section of road listed in the schedule below

(REDBURN ROW) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic from the section of road listed in the schedule below. The Order is required to allow the excavation and installation of new footway and traffic calming measures. The order will come into force on 13th February 2023. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be eighteen months, it is estimated that the works will take four weeks. During the closure all vehicles, horses and cycles will be prohibited from the highway detailed in the Schedule below (except for vehicles and personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
