Brecks Lane, Rotherham - temporary suspension of 7.5 tonne weight limit restriction
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) AND 14(7)
PART OF BRECKS LANE AND
PART OF RIDGEWAY HERRINGTHORPE ROTHERHAM
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC AND
TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT LIMIT RESTRICTION)
NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough has made an Order the effect of
which is to
1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Brecks Lane from the
northern kerb line of Belcourt Road for a distance of approximately 200m in a
northerly direction from Thursday 5th. January until Tuesday 11th. April 2023
(the alternative route is via A631 Bawtry Road, Northfield Lane, Hill Top Lane,
Far Dalton Lane, Magna Lane, Dalton Lane and vice versa).
2. Temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight limit restriction along that part of
Brecks Lane from its junction with Ridgeway to the existing weight limit signs
approximately 10m north of the northen kerb line of Belcourt Road from
Thursday 5th. January until Tuesday 11th. April 2023.
3. Temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight limit restriction along that part of
Ridgeway from its junction with Brecks Lane for a distance of approximately 5m
in a westerly direction from Thursday 5th. January until Tuesday 11th. April 2023.
The reason for the prohibition speed limit restriction and temporary suspension of
turning manoeuvres is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on
or near the parts of road (construction of road widening, and vehicular access to
businesses on Brecks Lane).
