THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (CITY WAY, SUNDERLAND) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TRAFFIC ORDER 2022
NOTICE is given that on 7th December 2022 Sunderland City Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 84 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Part IV of the Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The comes into effect on 12th December 2022 and the effect of the Order is to introduce a 40mph speed limit along the B1286 from the junction of A19/A690 to Doxford Park Way and revoke The City of Sunderland (City Way De-restriction) (Doxford Park Way 40mph Speed Limit) Order 1992.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to proceed to make the Order. An electronic copy of the documents can also be obtained by emailing: statutoryorders@sunderland.gov.uk. In addition, a paper copy can be requested by telephoning 01915611621 during office hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with may within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
