The Order will come into force on 3rd December 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closure of the off-slip will be diverted London-bound on the M2 and A2 to Marling Cross Interchange and return. Traffic affected by the closure of the on-slip will be diverted northeast on the A228 then west on the non-trunked A2 to join the A2 Trunk Road at Park Pale Interchange (M2 Junction 1 ).
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
