What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT, 1991 WALSALL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH
M6 JUNCTION 10, A454 WOLVERHAMPTON ROAD, WOLVERHAMPTON
ROAD SERVICE ROAD, BLOXWICH LANE, TEMPUS DRIVE, B4464 WOLVERHAMPTON ROAD WEST AND A454 BLACK COUNTRY ROUTE, WALSALL TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLULAR TRAFFIC, ONE WAY WORKING, PROHIBITION OF TURNS AND PROHIBTIONS OF PEDESTRIANS ORDER 2022
Notice is hereby given that Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make an ORDER, the effect of which will be to prevent any vehicle from proceeding along the length of:
• The eastbound A454 Black Country Route that is situated from its junction with The Keyway to its junction with the M6 Junction 10 roundabout.
• The westbound A454 Black Country Route that is situated from its junction with the M6 Junction 10 circulatory to its junction with the entry slip road leading from Marshland Way.
• B4464 Wolverhampton Road West that is situated from its junction with Bentley Road North to its junction with the M6 Junction 10 roundabout.
• The eastbound carriageway of A454 Wolverhampton Road that is situated from its junction with the M6 Junction 10 roundabout to its junction with Lane Avenue.
• The westbound carriageway of A454 Wolverhampton Road that is situated from its junction with A4148 Pleck Road to its junction with the M6 Junction 10 roundabout.
• Bloxwich Lane from that is situated its junction with Churchill Road to its junction with A454 Wolverhampton Road.
• The northern M6 Junction 10 overbridge.
• The southern M6 Junction 10 overbridge.
• The Wolverhampton Road Service Road from its junction with Bloxwich Lane to its junction with the eastbound A454 Wolverhampton Road.
It will also be necessary to temporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that length of:
• Bloxwich Lane that is situated from its junction with A454 Wolverhampton Road to its junction with Churchill Road) in any direction other than northerly
• Bloxwich Lane that is situated from its junction with Churchill Road to its junction with A454 Wolverhampton Road in any direction other than southerly
• B4464 Wolverhampton Road West that is situated from its junction with the M6 Junction 10 roundabout to its junction with Bentley Road North in any direction other than easterly
• B4464 Wolverhampton Road West that is situated from its junction with Bentley Road North to its junction with the M6 Junction 10 roundabout in any direction other than westerly.
It will also be necessary to temporarily prohibit any vehicle from undertaking the
following manoeuvres:
• The left turn from the westbound A454 Wolverhampton Road into Tempus Drive
• The right turn from Tempus Drive onto Wolverhampton Road
• The right turn from the eastbound A454 Wolverhampton Road into Tempus Drive
• The left turn from Tempus Drive onto the westbound A454 Wolverhampton Road
• The left turn from Bloxwich Lane onto the eastbound A454 Wolverhampton Road
• The left turn into Bloxwich Lane from the eastbound A454 Wolverhampton Road
• The right turn into Bloxwich Lane from the westbound A454 Wolverhampton Road
• The right turn from Bloxwich Lane onto the westbound A454 Wolverhampton Road
• Travelling from Bloxwich Lane directly into Tempus Drive
And prohibit pedestrians from using the lengths of footway detailed below whilst at no time preventing access to properties situated adjacent to, or accessible only from, that footway.
• The footway situated on the southern side of A454 Wolverhampton Road West
from its junction with Primley Avenue and its junction with Bloxwich Lane
• The footway situated to the northern side of A454 Wolverhampton Road from its junction with Bloxwich Lane to its junction with the M6 Junction roundabout
• The footway that is being constructed on the M6 Junction 10 northern overbridge
• The footway that is situated on the southern side of The A454 Black Country Route that is situated from its junction with Bentley Mill Lane to its junction with Bentley Mill Way
This ORDER will come into operation on Saturday 12 November 2022 and will remain in force for a period of 18 months only.
The prohibition of traffic is appropriate to ensure that a contractor working on behalf of Walsall Council and National Highways can carry out works in relation to the M6 Junction 10 improvement scheme in a manner that enhances the safety of both workforce and travelling public, minimises the impact of the works on journey times and assists with reducing the future maintenance liabilities of both National Highways and Walsall Council at the location. It is expected that work will take place from Sunday 21 November 2022 until the completion of the scheme, expected in early 2023.
