Swansea - Local Access Forum Is Re-Forming And Is Open To New Members
What is happening?
Swansea Local Access Forum is re-forming and is open to new members.
The Swansea and Gower Local Access Forum (LAF) provides advice and promotes discussion on the management and improvement of public access to the countryside across the area.
Swansea and Gower are home to some of Wales's finest coastal and rural landscapes, which is accessed by over 400 miles of public paths and 26 square miles of access land. The LAF works to help ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy high-quality access to these special places.
The LAF provides a platform for discussion and debate on all aspects of recreational access, including walking, horse riding, cycling, and other outdoor activities.
Its primary role is to advise the Council, Natural Resources Wales, and other relevant organisations on ways to improve public access to the countryside for open-air recreation and the enjoyment of the area.
LAF members are appointed for their knowledge, experience, and ability to contribute to discussions on countryside access. Members collectively reflect a range of interests, including access users, landowners and land managers, conservation, tourism, and other issues relevant to public access. Members serve in an individual capacity rather than as representatives of any particular organisation.
Members of the public are welcome to observe at meetings of the LAF.
