The Standards Sub-Committee has found that Councillor Farooq Ahmed breached the council's Member Code of Conduct. The Sub-Committee heard evidence that Councillor Ahmed was asked to issue a written apology but failed to do so. Having considered all of the evidence and representations presented at the hearing, the Sub-
Committee concluded that this failure amounted to a breach of the Member Code of Conduct. The hearing was held in private because the matters considered included information exempt from public disclosure.
However, the Sub-Committee considered that publication of its finding was in the public interest and consistent with the council's commitment to maintaining high standards of conduct. A written decision notice has been provided to the parties.
