What is happening?
NOTICE OF PUBLICATION OF THE EASTBOURNE LOCAL PLAN PROPOSED SUBMISSION (REGULATION 19)
Notice is hereby given under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended) that Eastbourne Borough Council has published the Eastbourne Local Plan (Proposed Submission) for a period of representations for a statutory 6-week period.
Eastbourne Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan that will guide the type, amount and location of development in the Borough up to 2042. The new Local Plan sets out a vision, objectives and development strategy for Eastbourne, alongside a range of policies that will guide development and infrastructure requirements to ensure that it help to deliver that vision and strategy.
The Eastbourne Local Plan (Proposed Submission) and its supporting documentation can be accessed on-line at https://www.leweseastbourne.gov.uk/eastbourne-local-plan, or alternatively it is available to view in paper copy at: Customer Contact Centre, 1 Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4TW between 10am and 2pm Monday to Friday.
The representation period commences on Friday 2nd October 2026 and is open for a 6-week period until Friday 13th November 2026. Representations must be received no later than 5pm on 13th November 2026.
Any person may make representations on whether the Eastbourne Local Plan is legally compliant and is sound according to the tests as set out in paragraph 36 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2024). Representations can be made online via the Council’s consultation portal http://www.leweseastbourne.gov.uk/eastbourne-local-plan. Alternatively, representations can be made by returning a completed representation form via email LocalPlan@lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk or by post to Planning Policy, Eastbourne Borough Council, Eastbourne Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG.
