Notice Is Hereby Given that THE LONDON BOROUGH OF LEWISHAM ("the Council") intends to appropriate an area of open space land to housing purposes pursuant to Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972.
The land in question is situated at: Fordham Park, New Cross, London, and is currently held and used as public open space.
The Council proposes to appropriate a small section of the land for housing purposes to facilitate residential development.
The attached plan identifies the section of land proposed for appropriation, as shown edged red and hatched black.
Requirements for the disposal of open space land by local authorities are contained in Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972. Sub section 2A of that Act requires notice of any proposal to appropriate land consisting of an open space to be published in a local newspaper for two consecutive weeks so that any person wishing to raise an objection to the appropriation may do so.
Any objections to the proposed disposal must be made in writing and addressed to: David Lee/Strategic Housing Delivery and Partnerships, at: Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, SE6 4RU - achilles@lewisham.gov.uk, to be received no later than 28 October 2026.
The Council will consider any objections received before a final decision is made.
