Notice Of Making Of A Modification Order Section 53 Wildlife And Countryside Act 1981 - London Borough Of Barnet The Definitive Map And Statement For The Area Of The Former Urban District Of Barnet Footpath B36 At High Barnet Definitive Map Modification Order 2026 ("The Order")
The above Order made on 24th September 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them a public footpath commencing from Restricted Byway B2 at Point A (OS Grid Reference TQ 2164 9528) and runs across the car park for approximately 50 metres, through the gap in the fence at Point B (OS Grid Reference TQ 2159 9529) and then north-westwards alongside the tennis court for approximately 35 metres to Point C (OS Grid Reference TQ 2156 9530), south-westwards between the tennis court and the wood for approximately 65 metres to Point D (OS Grid Reference TQ 2151 9525), then drops into the wood alongside, crossing two drainage ditches and so into the adjoining wood for approximately 50 metres (Point E, OS Grid Reference TQ 2146 9526). The path then runs north-westwards on the west side of the ditch for approximately 165 metres to a culvert over the ditch alongside a Gas Pipeline Marker at Point F (OS Grid Reference TQ 2136 9539). Here, the path crosses over the ditch, running north-eastwards on the north side of the ditch to approximately 260 metres to an old wooden sleeper bridge over another ditch at Point G (OS Grid Reference TQ 2157 9554) with another Gas Pipeline marker close to the Point F (OS Grid Reference TQ 2136 9539).

The path then continues along a raised causeway with a ditch either side, and a pond to the south of the route, for approximately 255 metres until it meets Barnet Footpath B3 at Point H (OS Grid Reference TQ 2177 9569), west of Rowley Lodge.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing addressed to: Public Rights of Way Officer, Highways Department, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, NW9 4EW, with Ref: - LGL/26630, not later than 23rd November 2026, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the Order instead of submitting it to the Secretary of State. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and/or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
