What is happening?

Notice Of Modification Order Section 53 Of The Wildlife And Countryside Act 1981 - Definitive Map And Statement Of Public Rights Of Way In Hertfordshire County Council (Offley Bridleway 55) - Modification Order 2026

The above Order made on 17th September 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:-

Adding to them a bridleway commencing from Offley BR 31 SSW of Hexton Road at TL 1525 2929 then ESE to TL 1573 2904 turning SSW to a junction with a track NW of Offley Grange at TL 1519 2818, then continuing SSW to Offley BR 48 N of the A505 slip road at TL 1486 2768.

A copy of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/rowapps, Reception of Hertfordshire County Council, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, SG1 2ST, by appointment from 9:30am to 4:00pm on Monday to Friday and at: North Herts District Council, Council Offices, Gernon Road, Letchworth, Herts.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to: The Definitive Map Officer, Countryside and Rights of Way Service, CHN110, Growth and Environment Department, Hertfordshire County Council, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG1 2ST.

Email: row@hertfordshire.gov.uk, (Ref: NH/305/MOD) to arrive no later than 12th November 2026 and applicants must include particulars of the grounds on which it is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Hertfordshire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
