NORTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL
Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 - Proposed Amendments To The Council’s Scheme For The Establishment Of Community Councils

Notice is hereby given, that NORTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Section 53 (1) of the above-mentioned Act and in the second period of the consultation process published, proposes to amend the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils within North Ayrshire Council.

A Special Meeting of the Council, held on 16 September 2026, agreed to a public consultation exercise on proposed amendments to the Scheme to be held over an eight-week period. This second period of formal consultation addresses the Scheme itself. A copy of the Proposed Scheme and a map showing the proposed Community Council areas may be downloaded from the Council’s website at: www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk, or may be examined at:
- Council Headquarters, Cunninghame House, Irvine, KA12 8EE – Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:45pm
- Libraries

Library opening hours can be found at: www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/libraries-parks-leisure/libraries/find-library.

Any person or organisation wishing to make written representations or comments on the proposed scheme, along with suggestions for amendments, may do so no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 25 November 2026 either:
- by email to: elections@north-ayrshire.gov.uk.
- in writing to: Election Office, Cunninghame House, Irvine, KA12 8EE.

Please note that any comments or representations received made may be included in a publicly available report to the Council. No personal information such as email addresses or other contact details will be published.

On completion of the above mentioned review the Council may decide to amend or replace the scheme. The full report can be found on North Ayrshire Council’s website: https://north-ayrshire.cmis.uk.com/north-ayrshire/CommitteesMeetings.aspx.
