What is happening?

Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water

Riverford Organic Farmers Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The applications are for full licences to abstract water from tributaries of the River Dart at National Grid References SX 77014 65302 and SX 77476 65783.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
From National Grid Reference (NGR) SX 77014 65302:
• 41 cubic metres an hour
• 984 cubic metres a day
• 9,000 cubic metres a year
• Between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year. From NGR c:
• 41 cubic metres an hour
• 984 cubic metres a day
• 20,000 cubic metres a year
• Between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for storage in a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
