North Lodge Park - Proposed Appropriation of Land for a Public Car Park

NORTH NORFOLK DISTRICT COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPROPRIATE HARD-SURFACED AREA FORMING PART OF NORTH LODGE PARK, CROMER Local Government Act 1972, s.122; Public Health Act 1875, s.164; Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, s.32

NOTICE IS GIVEN, in accordance with section 122(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972, that North Norfolk District Council intends to appropriate land comprising the hard-surfaced area of the former tennis courts and children's play area, forming part of North Lodge Park, Cromer and located east of the main drive, for use as a public pay and display car park. The land is shown shaded blue on the plan available for inspection at the Council Offices during normal opening hours and online at www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/NLPConsultation.

The land is currently held as a place of public recreation pursuant to section 164 of the Public Health Act 1875. If appropriated, the land will be discharged from any trust to which it is subject by virtue of its being held as open space, in accordance with section 122(2B) of the Local Government Act 1972.

This notice is being given by advertisement for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper circulating in the area in which the land is situated. It is also available online at www.north-norfolk.gov.uk/NLPConsultation. The Council will consider any objections to the proposed appropriation before deciding whether to proceed.

Any objections or representations must be made in writing, stating the grounds of objection or representation, and sent for the attention of Lynda Wilson, Chief Executive's Office, North Norfolk District Council, Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk NR27 9EN, or by email to NLPConsultation@north-norfolk.gov.uk.

Objections or representations must be received by 5pm on Thursday 15 October 2026.
