Bower Hinton - Proposed Freehold Sale of Closed Burial Ground

PUBLIC NOTICE

RE: The Closed United Reformed Church Burial Ground at Bower Hinton Martock Somerset ("the Burial Ground")

NOTICE is hereby given as follows:

(1) The above property is heid by The United Reformed Church (South Western Synod) Incorporated charity number 275364 company number 1328728 ("the Trustee") upon trust for the general purposes of the South Western Synod of the United Reformed Church.

(2) The Trustee intends to dispose of the property by way of freehold sale subject to the provisions of the Disused Burial Grounds Act 1884 and 1981. Rights of future access will be reserved for those with relatives and friends buried in (or whose ashes are interred in) the Burial Ground to visit and tend the graves upon service of appropriate notice upon the new owners of the Burial Ground, but the Burial Ground is closed for future burials or interment of ashes following the closure of Bower Hinton United Reformed Church as a place of worship.

(4) Any person wishing to make representations to the Trustee with regard to the proposed sale should do so in writing to the address given below on or before the expiry of a period of one month from the date of publication of this Notice.
