NOTICE OF CONFIRMING OF A PUBLIC PATH

(CLEVELAND WAY & COAST TO COAST NATIONAL TRAILS – BLOWORTH CROSSING)

DIVERSION ORDER 2026

On 14th August 2026, the North York Moors National Park Authority confirmed the above Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed will divert the bridleway from High Bloworth Gill onto the former railway line at Bloworth Crossing, as shown on the Order map.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Helmsley Community Library, Town Hall, Market Place, Helmsley, York, YO62 5BL until 4th November 2026. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased at a reasonable cost by contacting Legal & Democratic Services, North Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Racecourse Lane, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL7 8AD.

The Order came into force on 14th August 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, make an application to the High Court.
