NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER

SECTION 53 OF THE

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(WEREHAM & WEST DEREHAM)

MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above Order, made on 8th August 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a Public Footpath and defining the particulars for Bridleway No. 5 in the parish of Wereham and defining the particulars for Footpath No. 3 in the parish of West Dereham.

The Public Footpath to be added, Wereham Footpath No. 4a, starts on B1160 Wereham Bypass at grid reference TF6727 0152 and proceeds in a west by north westerly direction for approximately 103 metres to the parish boundary where it joins West Dereham Footpath No. 3 at grid reference TF6717 0155. The width is 2 metres as indicated by the solid feature lines on the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey 1905 County Series Second Edition map. Limitations and Conditions: None.

Wereham Bridleway No. 5 starts on C232 Flegg Green at grid reference TF6766 0131 and proceeds in a south easterly direction for approximately 557 metres where it joins U1261 The Row at grid reference TF6808 0097. The width varies between 4.7 metres and 11.1 metres as indicated by the solid feature lines on the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey 1905 County Series Second Edition map. Limitations and Conditions: None.

West Dereham Footpath No. 3 starts on C35 Church Road at grid reference TF6649 0183 and proceeds in an east by south easterly direction for approximately 743 metres to the parish boundary where it joins Wereham Footpath No. 4a at grid reference TF6717 0154. The width varies between 1.5 metres and 2.5 metres as indicated by the solid feature lines on the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey 1905 County Series Second Edition map. Limitations and Conditions: None.

A copy of the order and order map may be seen free of charge at County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 2SG and at the offices of Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, Kings Court, Chapel Street, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 1EX during normal office hours or purchased at a cost of £5.00 from the undersigned.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Senior Legal Orders Officer, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2SG or by email to legalordersandregisters@norfolk.gov.uk  not later than 3rd November 2026, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. If no such representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Norfolk County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order.

If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
