What is happening?

LINCOLN STAFF BENEFITS PLAN

Notice Under Section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 27 (1) of the Trustee Act 1925 that the Trustee are winding up the Lincoln Staff Benefits Plan (the Plan) and are intending to distribute the assets of the Plan in accordance with the Plan’s governing documentation. It is intended that this will be ach-ieved by securing members’ benefits with two insurance companies.

If you already receive a pension from the Plan, and/or you have received a communication from the Trustee regarding the wind up of the Plan, then you do not need to take any action.

Please note this notice only applies to the Plan, it does not apply to any other pension scheme associated with the employers mentioned below. The Plan was established with effect from I May 1974 and is currently governed by a Consolidated Trust Deed and Rules dated 1 I March 2026.The wind-up of the Plan commenced on 3 September 2026.

Who should contact the Trustee?
The following persons are requested to write to the Trustee at the address given below, on or before 20 November 2026, if they have not already received a letter from the Trustee notifying them of the wind up of the Plan:

■ Any employee or former employee of Lincoln Insurance Services Limited formerly Cannon Lincoln Insurance Services Limited) or an associated Employer who believes that they are a member of the Plan;

■ Any person who believes that they are beneficiary of the Plan such as a widow, widower, civil partner, child or other dependent of a deceased member of the Plan; and

■ Any person who believes they have any other interest, claim or entitlement in relation to the Plan. Employers which have been associated with the Scheme at some stage during the period from May 1974 include:

■ Lincoln Assurance Limited (formerly Cannon Assurance Limited);

■ Cannon Lincoln Management Limited;

■ HUTM Limited;

■ Liberty Press Limited;

■ Liberty Life Assurance Company Limited; and

■ Lincoln Financial Advisers Limited. Pension schemes which merged into the Plan include the following:

■ Laurentian Pension Scheme (No.2);

■ British National Life Pension Scheme; and

■ Liberty Life Staff Pension Scheme.

What information is required?
Claimants should provide their full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number; the period during which they worked for any company associated with the Plan, and any documents supporting their claim.

Claimants whose benefits derive from a member’s death should, in addition, provide the member’s full name, date of birth, home address at the date of death, National Insurance number (if known), the period during which he or she worked for an Employer and the name of that Employer. Please quote the Plan name in all correspondence.

Deadline for claims
The last date for sending in a claim is 20 November 2026.

After 20 November 2026 the Trustee will finalise the provision of benefits for Plan members and beneficiaries and complete its winding up, having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have prior notice. After that time, the Trustee shall not be liable to any person.

To ensure that your claim is received it is strongly advised that any postal correspondence is sent by registered post.

Please note that if you are currently in receipt of a pension from the Plan or have already received correspondence relating to the winding up of the Plan then you do not need to contact the Trustee.
