Notice is hereby given that Skelmorlie Community Council is calling for nominations to stand for election to serve as Community Councillors. Candidates for this voluntary position must be aged over 16 and live within the boundary of Skelmorlie Community Council. The term of office is four years. Current members of the community council are eligible to stand for election.

Completed nomination papers must contain the name and address of the person nominated and the names and addresses of two proposers, each of whom should be a local government elector for the area. Each nomination paper must be signed by the person nominated and the two proposers. Please note that community councillors serve in a voluntary capacity.

The deadline for nominations is 12 noon on Monday 19 October 2026.

An election meeting will be held at 7pm on Monday 26 October 2026 at Skelmorlie Community Centre, 13 Skelmorlie Castle Road, Skelmorlie PA17 5AH.

In the event that the number of nominations received meets the minimum requirement (4) and does not exceed the maximum membership allowed (7), all nominees will be appointed to the community council.

Should the number of nominations received exceed the places available, a ballot will be held at the election meeting, with all local electors aged 16 and over in attendance eligible to cast a vote.
