Public Notice

Cornwall Council in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976

HEREBY GIVES NOTICE of its intention to introduce the following Hackney Carriage fare scale throughout the PENWITH Hackney Carriage Taxi Zone with effect from 1 October 2026

Penwith Taxi Zone

Tariff 1

Between 0800&2300

Tariff 2

Between
2300-0300 &0600-0800 Plus Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and Public/ Bank Holidays (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day)
Tariff 3

Between 0300-0600 Plus Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year's Day and until 0600the following day of each of these days
Tariff 4

Between 0800&2300 Sundays Only
a For the first 5/18'h of a mile  £4.00  £5.00 £7.00   £4.50

The above rel!resents the maximum fare that can be charged

Fares for journeys outside the Penwith Zone may be negotiated.
N.B: A meter must only be used from the point at which the hirer enters the vehicle.

A copy of this notice is available for inspection during normal office hours at the Council Offices in Truro for the next 14 days.

Any objection to the introduction of the above fares should be received by the undersigned no later than 25 September 2026.
