Farmpoint Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from inland water known as the Rover Teme between National Grid References SO 63636 68558 and SO 65643 69101 at Newnham Farm, Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
Spray Irrigation:
• 69 cubic metres an hour • 1,200 cubic metres a day
• 10,000 cubic metres a year.
Trickle Irrigation:
• 69 cubic metres an hour • 1,200 cubic metres per day
• 39,000 cubic metres per year • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for spray irrigation and trickle irrigation.
Further details are: there will be a winter abstraction between 1 November and 31 March which will be used for storage and abstracted during the summer months. The reservoir will be built to hold the full 49,000 cubic metres.
