Notice of Intended Appropriation of Open Space Land – Land at Brow Top, Griffin Street, Workington

Notice is hereby given under section 122 (2A) of the Local Government Act 1972, that Cumberland Council intends to appropriate the following land currently held for public open space purposes to planning purposes in connection with the Cumberland Sports Village development:-

  1. Land at Brow Top, Griffin Street, Workington shown coloured red on the Plan.

The Plan showing the extent of the land intended to be appropriated may be inspected at Cumberland Council, Allerdale House, Workington, CA14 3YJ during normal office hours.

Any objections to the proposed appropriation must be made in writing and sent to Kirsty Brough, Cumberland Council, Civic Centre, Rickergate, Carlisle, CA3 8QG, or by email to placelegalteam@cumberland.gov.uk by no later than 12 noon on 2 October 2026.
