What is happening?

The North Yorkshire Council, Public Path Diversion Order, Town & Country Planning Act 1990 Section 257, Public Footpath No. 05.14/78 Warley Wise Farm, Cowling, Diversion Order 2026

On 28/08/26 The North Yorkshire Council confirmed the above Order without modifications. The effect of the order will be to divert Footpath number 05.14/78 which will commence at Grid Reference SD 9428 4349 (Point A), proceeding in a north north easterly direction for approximately 59m to a gap in the wall at Grid Reference SD 9430 4354 (Point D). From a gate in the northern boundary wall at Grid Reference SD 9430 4354 (Point D) the newly diverted footpath, continues in a generally north north westerly direction for approximately 87m to a gate in the wall on Warley Wise Lane at Grid Reference SD 9427 4362 (Point E) on a grass surface. The Footpath width will be 3 metres.

A copy of the confirmed Order & Order Plan may be seen free of charge during normal office hours in reception at The North Yorkshire Council Offices, 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton, BD23 1FJ, where copies may be purchased at a reasonable cost or can be viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/public-rights-way/rights-way-public-notices/ & downloaded.

This Order comes into force on the date on which the North Yorkshire Council certifies that the terms of Article 2 of the Order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the Order wishes to question its validity, or that of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, they may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under Section 287 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which the Notice is first published as required by Paragraph 8 of Schedule 14 to the Act.
