SCHOOL ESTATE - STATUTORY CONSULTATION
PROPOSAL TO PERMANENTLY CLOSE FOUNTAINHALL PRIMARY SCHOOL AND ELC (CURRENTLY TEMPORARILY CLOSED)
Under the Schools Consultation (Scotland) Act 2010 (As Amended) Scottish Borders Council launched a Statutory Consultation on the proposal to close Fountainhall Primary School and ELC (currently temporarily closed) and to rezone the school catchment area to Heriot Primary School.
The Statutory Consultation opened on Monday 24th August 2026 and will be open until 12th October 2026 Inclusive. Feedback is welcomed and encouraged by all.

A public meeting is taking place on Wednesday 16th September 2026 within Fountainhall Village Hall at 5.30pm which will be open for all to attend and is a chance to hear more about the proposals and to have your views recorded for the purposes of the Statutory Consultation.

All written responses to the Statutory Consultation received during the Statutory Consultation will also be included in the consultation or emails to the school estate mailbox although digital participation on the online citizen space link is actively encouraged.
