TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 & PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14
LAUNTON FOOTPATH NO. 9 (PART) DIVERSION ORDER 2026
Cherwell District Council gives notice that it has made an Order on 4 August 2026 under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 because it is satisfied that it is necessary to divert the footpath to which the Order relates to enable the development to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (planning permission ref: 26/00236/F).
The effect of the Order will be to divert the section of Launton FP9 running from OS Grid Ref SP 60563, 22941 north north-eastwards for 87m to SP 60599, 23017 then east south-eastwards for 251m to SP 60814, 22889 on to a new line running from SP 60563, 22941 east south-eastwards for 226m to SP 60761, 22837 then north-eastwards for 60m to SP 60804, 22877 then north north-westwards for 8m to SP 60802, 22885 then north-eastwards for 5m to SP 60805, 22889 then eastwards for 8m to SP 60814, 22889 as shown on the Order map.
A copy of the Order, map and explanatory statement may be seen free of charge during opening hours at Cherwell District Council, 39 Castle Quay, Banbury, Oxon, OX16 5FD. A copy can also be obtained on request from prow@cherwell-dc.gov.uk.
Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent in writing to the AD Law and Governance, Legal Services, Cherwell District Council, 39 Castle Quay, Banbury, Oxon, OX16 5FD (ref: JH/KD/12164) or prow@cherwell-dc.gov.uk not later than 18 September 2026. Please clearly state the grounds on which it is made. Objections may be made on the grounds that the tests set out in the Act have not been satisfied. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are subsequently withdrawn, Cherwell District Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
