(BASINGSTOKE – PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 8)

PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP

AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

On 30 July 2026 Hampshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish that part of the above-named public footpath which commences at SU 6434 5194 and proceeds eastwards to a junction with Footpath 10 at SU 6462 5199.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD, and at the offices of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH at all reasonable hours; and online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices. Printed copies can be obtained by contacting row.notices@hants.gov.uk 

The Order came into force on 30 July 2026, but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 21 August 2026 make an application to the High Court.
