Former Owner (Crichel Down) Considerations Disposal Of The Following Properties - Ayres End Lane, Harpenden
Land at the above locations has been declared surplus to Hertfordshire County Council ("HCC") requirements and is to be sold. The Crichel Down Rules (as set out in as set out in Department for Communities and Local Government Guidance on compulsory purchase process and the Crichel Down Rules for the disposal of surplus land acquired by, or under the threat of, compulsion (October 2015), under certain circumstances, require surplus land compulsorily acquired to be offered back to the former owner or their successor in title (other than through purchase) at current market value. HCC does not consider that the Land falls within one or more of the exceptions in the Crichel Down Rules and, therefore, it is obliged to offer back the Land to the former owners of the Land or their successors in title (as defined in the Crichel Down Rules).
Former owners or their successors in title (other than through purchase) are invited to contact Carter Jonas LLP, by writing within two months of the date of this notice to: Ally Palmer, Carter Jonas LLP, Mayfield House, 256 Banbury Road, Summertown, Oxford, OX2 7DE.
HCC intends to sell the Land on the expiry of the two-month period if not contacted at the above address within that period. Former owners or their successors in title (other than through purchase) should confirm their intention to purchase the Land, state the basis of their claim and provide evidence of such entitlement (including their relationship to the former owner).
