Notice of proposal to revise the Public Library byelaws

South Gloucestershire Council proposes to revise the public library byelaws, under section 19 of the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964 and with guidance from the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS).

The proposed new byelaws can be inspected at the South Gloucestershire Council offices at Kingswood Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 9TR, on the South Gloucestershire website at www.southglos.gov.uk/join-the-library or in any South Gloucestershire library.

Feedback may be emailed to libraries@southglos.gov.uk or sent to Sophia Richards, Library Services Manager, South Gloucestershire Council, PO Box 1954, BS37 0DD by 25 September 2026.
