What is happening?

Notice of Public Consultation Events Halfway Energy Park, Carse of Gowrie, Perth & Kinross

Halfway Energy Park is a newly proposed renewable energy development in the Carse of Gowrie comprising up to 500MW of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic panels and up to 100MW of co-located battery energy storage.

If consented, the proposed development could generate enough clean electricity to meet just under 5% of Scotland's current annual non-domestic electricity demand, making a significant contribution to Scotland's decarbonisation efforts and strengthening Scotland's energy security.

The proposed development is a nationally significant development in accordance with National Planning Framework 4, which identifies 'Strategic Renewable Electricity Generation and Transmission Infrastructure' as a national development.

Residents and local businesses are invited to learn more about the proposals, meet the project team, ask questions and provide consultation feedback.

The first round of in-person drop-in events are planned to be held at the following times and dates:

Monday 7th September 2026 - 10:30 - 17:30
Inchture Village Hall, Main Street, Inchture, PH14 9RN
Tuesday 8th September 2026 - 12:00 - 19:00
Errol Village Hall, North Bank Dykes, Errol, PH2 7QH

Next Steps
Following the first round of consultation and receiving the Scoping Opinion, the team will reflect on the comments received and a further consultation will take place, further details will be advertised at the appropriate time.

Please note: Comments submitted to Aukera UK are part of the pre-application consultation process and will be considered as the proposals continue to develop. They are not representations to the Scottish Government. Should an application be submitted to the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit, there will be a separate opportunity to make formal representations as part of the statutory application process.
