Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011

Closed church building of Twigworth St Matthew Diocese of Gloucester

The Church Commissioners have published a draft Pastoral (Church Buildings Disposal) Scheme providing for the sale of the closed church building of Twigworth St Matthew and part of the annexed churchyard to be sold for residential use and for purposes ancillary thereto.

A copy of the draft Scheme may be inspected online at www.churchofengland.org/consultation and at Church House, 5 Denmark Road, Gloucester GL1 3HW. Having considered the proposals, you may make representations either in support or against the draft Scheme by e-mail to jos.waters@churchofengland.org or by post to Jos Waters, Mission and Pastoral Services, Church Commissioners, Church House, Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3AZ.

A notice to this effect was published in this newspaper on 16 July 2026 indicating that any communications received after 12 August 2026 could not be treated as a representation with respect to the draft Scheme. By this notice, the Commissioners hereby extend the period for making representations until 24th August 2026.

Where there are representations against the draft Scheme, all representations received and relevant correspondence will be published on the Commissioners’ website. For details of this process see www.ccpastoral.org. If you require further clarification about the draft Scheme or process you can contact the Closed Churches Case Officer, Sarah Mellor at sarah.mellor@churchofengland.org.

The Church Commissioners are a registered charity (number 1140097).
