Notice of Public Meeting

The Highland Council has launched a proposal to relocate Thurso High School, Pennyland Primary School and Miller Academy Primary School to a new setting serving all three schools.
The paper has been issued under the terms of the Council’s procedure under The Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010, as amended.

The consultation period began on Wednesday 19 August 2026 and will close on 30 September 2026. During this period members of the public are invited to comment on the consultative proposal.

Arrangements have been made for representatives of the Highland Council to meet with parents, children and other members of the public to discuss the proposal at a public meeting to be held on:

27th August 2026 at Thurso High School at 7pm.

All comments made in writing or at the public meeting will be presented in due course to the Highland Council’s Education Committee for consideration. As this is a public consultation, written submissions, and a note of the meeting, will be made available to the public and any comments submitted may be published on the Council’s website – www.highland.gov.uk.

Hard copies of the proposal have been made available at Thurso High School and the Thurso Library.
