Essex and Suffolk Region - Temporary Hosepipe and Domestic Water Use Restrictions

What is happening?

Essex and Suffolk Region

Independent Water Networks Ltd (IWNL) gives notice that, pursuant to sections 76 and 76A-C of the Water Industry Act 1991, the following uses of water supplied by IWNL are restricted.

    1. Water a garden using a hosepipe

    1. Cleaning a private motor-vehicle using a hosepipe

    1. Watering plants on domestic or other non-commercial premises using a hosepipe

    1. Cleaning a private leisure boat using a hosepipe

    1. Filling or maintain a domestic swimming or paddling pool

    1. Drawing water, using a hosepipe, for domestic recreational use

    1. Filling or maintaining a domestic pond using a hosepipe

    1. Filling or maintaining an ornamental fountain

    1. Cleaning walls, or windows, or a domestic premises using a hosepipe

    1. Cleaning paths or patios using a hosepipe

  1. Cleaning other artificial outdoor surfaces using a hosepipe

Water restrictions will start at 00:01 on the 4th August 2026 and continue until further notification. The restrictions apply in the areas of supply of Limebrook Way (CM9), Malyons Lane (SS5), Marsh Road (CM0), Ashingdon Road (SS4), Manor Way, Stanford Le Hope (SS17), Gascoigne West (Phase 2) (IG11), River View (CM8), Campfield Road (SS3), Maple Creek (SS17), Broad Road (IP14), Church Road, Bacton (IP14), Fossetts Way (SS2), Blossom Park (CM4), The Street, Latchingdon (CM3), Roman Way (IP19), Rawreth lane (Phase 2) (SS6), St Margarets Crescent (IP16), Malyons Lane (CA) (SS5), Roe Wood Park (RM3), Chadwell Road (RM17), Nags Head Lane (CM14), Nova Scotia Farm (Phase 1) (NR30), Former Bacton Middle School (IP14), Roman Road (CM4), North of Kennel Lane (CM12), Southend Road (CM11), Beacon Park (Phases 2 & 3) (NR31).
