LITTLEBOROUGH FOOTPATHS: LITFP426, LITFP427, LITFP436, LITFP437, LITFP438, LITFP439, LITFP444, LITFP424 AND LITFP425
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026 - EXTENSION NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Order made by Rochdale Borough Council on 5 February 2026, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following routes:
LitFp427: The footpath starts at the junction with Brown Lodge Drive it proceeds in an east north east direction for 201 metres to meet with footpath LitFp426,
LitFp444: The footpath starts at the end of Higher Bank Road and runs in a north east direction for 182 metres to meet with LitFp437 located north of Lower Cleggswood Farm.
LitFp438: The footpath starts at the junction with Hollingworth Road and proceeds in a generally west south west direction for 254 metres to the junction with LitFp437 and LitFp439 south of Lower Cleggswood Farm.
LitFp424: The footpath starts at Hollingworth Road opposite the track that leads to Bank top and runs in a west south west direction for 64 metres before turning in a north north west direction for52 metres, proceeding in a westerly direction for 40 metres until turning north north west again for 62 metres until the route turns again in a west south west direction for 230 metres to meet with definitive footpath LitFp426.
LitFp425, LitFp426, LitFp436, LitFp437, LitFp439: LitFp425 starts/ends at the Rochdale Canal Towpath and runs in a south east direction for 155 metres to definitive footpath LitFp426. LitFp426 continues in a south east direction for 27 metres to LitFp436. LitFp436 proceeds in a south east direction for 124 metres to LitFp437. LitFp437 continues in a south east direction for 106 metres passing over a track where Lower Cleggswood Farm is situated, it meets with LitFp439. LitFp439 runs in a south east direction for 214 metres to meet with Lake Bank.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has approved the continuing operation of the Order and has granted an extension of the Order until 5 February 2028, or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The alternative routes remain as previously advertised in connection with the Order.
