NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF MARKETS AND STREET TRADING LICENSING POLICY 2026 - 2030
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”), in its capacity as the Licensing Authority, has formally approved and adopted the Markets and Street Trading Licensing Policy 2026 - 2030.
The Policy was formally adopted by a resolution of Full Council on 15 July 2026.
The Markets and Street Trading Licensing Policy will come into strict operation on 1 August 2026. It will govern all street trading activities, market provisions, and enforcement actions within the Borough until such time as it is updated and superseded.
Scope of the Policy
This Policy sets out the framework under which the Council will evaluate, grant, renew, or refuse applications for street trading licences under the Act. This includes:
- Permanent and Temporary Market Stalls and designated pitch licences.
- Temporary or Casual Licences for seasonal events, community markets, and single-day trading.
- Shop Front Displays extending onto the public footway or highway.
- Tables and Chairs Licences for pavement cafes and outdoor hospitality amenities.
- Standard Licence Conditions regarding trading hours, trader conduct, safety protocols, and waste management.
Public Inspection of Documents
