Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water

Above Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Tyne Carboniferous Limestone and Coal Measures at a construction site at Elwin Place, Chester Le Street in the area bounded by National Grid References NZ 25322 52902, NZ 25329 52883, NZ 25356 52889 and NZ 25350 52910, for the purpose of transferring it to public surface water sewer without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 144 cubic metres an hour

• 3,456 cubic metres a day

• 155,520 cubic metres a year

• For 6 months from the issue date.

The water will be used for the purpose of dewatering for construction.

All water abstracted will be returned to the river, via the sewer, at National Grid Reference NZ 25376 52614.
