Exeter – Proposed Disposal of Crown Escheat Land

EX4 2PRPublished 22/07/26

What is happening?

AIRLIE MANAGEMENT LIMITED

Public Notice

Property: land at Kinnerton Way, Exeter

(former freehold title number DN464757)

Dissolved Company: BITHREY CONSTRUCTION LIMITED

We write concerning an area of land shown outlined on the attached title plan (the “Property”). This land was formerly owned by BITHREY CONSTRUCTION LIMITED.

Following the disclaimer by the Treasury Solicitor, the property may now be deemed subject to escheat to the Crown under common law. We have recently been in correspondence with Burges Salmon LLP, the firm which acts for The Crown Estate in relation to such matters.

In accordance with long standing legal advice, The Crown Estate does not propose to take any action which might be construed as an act of management, ownership or possession with regard to this Property, since to do so may incur upon it liabilities with which the Property is or may become encumbered.

Notwithstanding the above, a sale of such interest as The Crown Estate may have in the Property to an appropriate person or body is not out of the question.

We have approached The Crown Estate with a view to acquiring the Property with the intention of using as part of our property portfolio of road and green energy storage.

As part of the Crown’s disposal procedure, we are required to notify all neighbouring landowners whose property adjoins the site, so that any boundary issues or claims or potential participation can be raised before the transfer is completed. The proposed sale is not intended to interfere with any existing public or private rights of way, and all such rights will be preserved.

In the interests of good administration, we should be grateful to receive any comments by 19th August 2026 [4 weeks from date of this letter] at the latest. If we have not heard from you by that date, we shall assume that you have no comments to make, nor any objections to the proposal. Any person wishing to make representations regarding this proposed transaction may do so in writing to: Airlie Management Limited at Suite 14, Parsons Green House, 27–31 Parsons Green Lane, London, SW6 4HH, no later than 24th August 2026.

Please note that any dealing of the freehold estate will not affect any rights currently existing over the Property.

If anyone is aware of any development proposals, planning consents or disputes which might affect the Property, either directly or indirectly, please inform us.

All representations received will be considered as part of the consultation process.

On behalf of Airlie Management Limited
