THE BOROUGH OF TRAFFORD (LAND TO THE SOUTH OF BANKHALL LANE, HALE) DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order made on 8th July 2026 if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them the footpath as described in the Schedule below. A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge online at https://www.trafford.gov.uk/streets-roads-and-transport/ roads-highways-and-pavements/public-rights-way-prow/ directory-definitive-map-modification-orders-dmmos/dmmo- 108-land-bankhall-lane-hale or at Sale Waterside Sale Manchester M33 7ZF during normal opening hours. Copies of the Order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00.
Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Director of Legal and Governance, Trafford Council, Trafford Town Hall Talbot Road Stretford Manchester M32 OTH not later than 31st August 2026 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, Trafford Borough Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order).
If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, in whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
Schedule
A footpath commencing at point ‘A’ marked on the Order Map (grid reference SJ77452,85838) an entrance off Bankhall Lane, opposite Avon Road and proceeding in a circular route round the west field with a further entrance at point ‘b’ marked on the Order Map (grid reference SJ77519,85829) off Bankhall Lane, opposite Tolland Lane. At point ‘F’ marked on the Order Map (grid reference SJ77526,85779) at the southeast corner of the west field the circular path continues in a southeast direction to the southwest corner of the east field point ‘G’ marked on the Order Map (grid reference SJ77690,85672). From there the circular route proceeds around the east field with an entrance off Bankhall Lane point ‘C’ marked on the Order Map (grid reference SJ77741,85808) and two further entrances off definitive footpath no 3, Hale, both entrances being at the southeast corner of the circular route.
Width being 1 m and length being approximately 1.29km.
