South Lanarkshire Council Data Breach Group Proceedings

Notice is hereby given that on 9 July 2026, the Court of Session made an order granting permission for group proceedings to be brought by Margaret Tanner as representative party on behalf of members of the group against South Lanarkshire Council a local authority with its headquarters at Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA.

The group proceedings relate to claims arising from the disclosure of the group members’ personal data by the Defender in response to a freedom of information request via the whatdotheyknow.com website in April 2023.

Individuals who have not previously made a claim in the group proceedings but wish to do so should contact Thompsons, the solicitors acting for the representative party, at the contact details noted below.
