Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water

Protos ERF CCS Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a transfer licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata near Ince, Cheshire between the National Grid References SJ 47003 76726, SJ 46860 76679, SJ 46891 76559 and SJ 47038 76613 to transfer it to a nearby surface water drain at National Grid Reference SJ 47013 76693 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 4 cubic metres an hour • 13 cubic metres a day

• 16,425 cubic metres a year • From issue until end of 2029.

Abstraction will take place all year.
