Notice is hereby given that an Inspector will be appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to determine.
DORSET COUNCIL
Dorset Council (Part of Bridleway 18, Chideock at Mill Lane To be upgraded to Restricted Byway) Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2019 and will attend at: Committee Suite, Dorset Council, County Hall Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset DT1 1XJ on Tuesday 11 August 2026 at 10.00am.
To hold a public local inquiry into the Order.
The effect of the Order, if confirmed without modifications, will be to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by upgrading part of Bridleway 18, Chideock as follows:
Part of Bridleway 18, Chideock:
To be renumbered Restricted Byway 48, Chideock.
From the adopted part of Mill Lane, north west of the entrance to Golden Cap Holiday Park at SY 42339232, south along the concrete surfaced road to SY 42339231, continuing south, via SY 42339224, to the unaffected part of Bridleway 18, west of the holiday park at SY 42339219,
Width: 3 metres.

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway W21/73,
Beaminster
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Bridleway W21/73, from grid reference ST 4708, 0166 to grid reference ST 46871 02198, a distance of approximately 600 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
It will come into operation on 27 July 2026, for a period of 14 days but it will remain in force for 26 weeks and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order will enable Paul Basham Associates to enable construction of a new development.
On this occasion there will be no suitable alternative route.
