HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY IN HERTFORDSHIRE (NORTH MYMMS 92 AND NORTH MYMMS 93) MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above Order made on 21st May 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:-

Adding Dellsome Lane as a public bridleway from the E of the A1(M) at TL 2183 0573, E for approx 120m to a junction with North Mymms Footpath 52 and North Mymms Bridleway 92 at TL 2195 0574.

Adding Dellsome Lane as a public bridleway from a junction with North Mymms Bridleway 92 and North Mymms Restricted Byway 93 at TL 2216 0579, E for approx 80m to a junction with North Mymms Restricted Byway 22 at TL 2223 0579, continuing as a public restricted byway SE and E for approx 520m, passing junctions with North Mymms Footpath 28a and North Mymms Footpath 45, to a junction with Dellsome Lane at TL 2267 0567.

Upgrading Dellsome Lane to a public bridleway from a junction with North Mymms Footpath 52 and North Mymms Bridleway 92 at TL 2195 0574, E and NE for approx 235m to a junction with North Mymms Bridleway 92 and North Mymms Restricted Byway 93 at TL 2216 0579.

Upgrading to a public restricted byway North Mymms Footpath 52 from a junction with North Mymms Bridleway 92 at TL 2216 0579, NW for approx 440m to a junction with South Way (A1001) at TL 2203 0621.

A copy of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/rowapps, www.welhat.gov.uk/consultations, Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, The Campus, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL8 6AE or Hertfordshire County Council, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, SG1 2ST by appointment from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm on Monday to Friday.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Julia Gough, Definitive Map Officer, Countryside and Rights of Way Service, CHN110, Growth and Environment Department, Hertfordshire County Council, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire SG1 2ST, email: julia.gough@hertfordshire.gov.uk (ref: W+H/083/MOD) to arrive no later than 19th August 2026 and applicants must include particulars of the grounds on which it is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Hertfordshire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
