CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982
In terms of section 17 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982, the Council as the Licensing Authority has a duty to review and fix scales for the fares and other charges relating to the hire of a taxi. In fulfilment of this duty, the Council has initially consulted with the taxi trade and now proposes that there will be an increase in taxi fares as outlined and that the new fares will be applicable from 10th August 2026. Details of the proposed fares can be viewed at https://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/taxi-fares Copies can also be viewed in Council offices at Spiersbridge Business Park, 2 Spiersbridge Way, Thornliebank, G46 8NG and 211 Main Street, Barrhead.
Anyone wishing to make representations in respect of the charges for taxi fares and other charges should submit their representations in writing, to the Chief Officer – Legal and Procurement, Legal Services (Licensing), Council Headquarters, Eastwood Park, Rouken Glen Road, Glasgow, G46 6UG, within one month from the publication of this notice.
