DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE DISTRICT OF NEWCASTLE

Staffordshire County Council (Public Footpath from Trentham Road to Butterton Road and from Public Footpath 13 to Butterton Road, Whitmore Parish) Modification Order 2026

The above Order made on 27th January 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by the addition of a length of footpath in the parish of Whitmore in the district of Newcastle, commencing on the north side of Trentham Road approximately 182 metres south east of the entrance to New Hayes Farm, point A on the map (NGR 383176 341561), and running in a generally north-north westerly direction for approximately 375 metres, then in a generally northerly direction for approximately 265 metres to its terminus at the junction of footpaths 12 and 13 Whitmore parish, point B on the map (NGR 393083 342195), and to be shown on the Definitive Map as an extension of footpath 13 Whitmore Parish. And the addition of a footpath in the parish of Whitmore in the district of Newcastle, commencing at a point on footpath 13 Whitmore parish approximately 66 metres east-north east of Wood Farm, point C on the map (NGR 383053 342459), and running in a generally northerly direction for approximately 200 metres to its terminus, point D on the map (NGR 383016 342655) on the south side of Butterton Road approximately 45 metres south of “Red Court”. The width of the public footpaths will be 1.8 metres.

A copy of the Order, the Order Map and explanatory statement may be seen free of charge at the offices at Staffordshire County Council Reception, 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2LP during normal working hours, Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the Order and the Map may be purchased.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Legal Services Unit, Staffordshire County Council, 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2LP or by emailling legalrowallocations@ staffordshire.gov.uk not later than 28th August 2026 quoting Ref No LG661G/8621/CLG and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. Any representation or objection may be made available to interested parties to view at the Council’s offices on request.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Staffordshire County Council instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
