PUBLIC NOTICE OF PASSED STREET TRADING RESOLUTION

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 – Schedule 4

Notice is hereby given that Babergh District Council passed a resolution under Para 2 of Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 to designate streets within its area for the purposes of street trading control.

The passed resolution will prohibit the A12 and A14 and designate all other streets within the Babergh District Council area as “Consent Streets”, which means that street trading will only be permitted with the consent of the Council.

The Council resolved to:

1. Designate all streets, including laybys, within the Babergh District Council area as Consent Streets under Para 2(1)(c) of Schedule 4 of the Act.

2. Designate the A12 and A14 within the Babergh District Council area as prohibited streets under Para 2(1)(a) of Schedule 4 of the Act.

The decision to pass the resolution was made by Babergh District Council on 23 June 2026.

The resolution will come into effect on the 1 August 2026.
