GRASMERE RIVERSIDE PATH, LAKES: GRASMERE PARISH
The above order made on 18 June 2026 will create a public footpath along the current permissive path running from the public road south of the Wordsworth Hotel (NY337074) to and along the riverside to Broadgate Car Park at NY338077 (including the link across the Millennium Bridge to NY339074), then along the edge of the car park and through the recreation ground to the road at NY338079 opposite Broadgate Orchard as shown on the order plan.
A copy of the order and plan may be seen during office hours at Customer Services, Westmorland & Furness Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ, at the Lake District National Park Authority, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL and at Unit 2, The Old Coach House, Stock Lane, Grasmere, LA22 9JL. You can also buy copies from the Authority for £3 each or view online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/rowchanges
Any representations about, or objections to, the order should be sent in writing to Rights of Way at the above (LDNPA) address or to nick.thorne@lakedistrict.gov.uk; to arrive no later than 31 July 2026.
If we receive none, or if all received are withdrawn, we may confirm an unopposed order. If an order is submitted to the Secretary of State for confirmation we will include any outstanding representations and objections.
