REPORT OF INDEPENDENT REMUNERATION PANEL
Halton Borough Council hereby gives notice that it has received a Report from an Independent Remuneration Panel about its Scheme of Allowances for Members.
The Report is available for Public Inspection between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays (excluding Bank Holidays) at the following offices:-
• Halton Direct Link, Brook Street, Widnes
• Halton Direct Link, Halton Lea, Runcorn
Copies of the Report are also available from Mark Reaney who can be contacted at mark.reaney@halton.gov.uk.
The main features of the Panel's recommendation are as follows:-
• The Panel considered that the current scheme remains fit for purpose and offers the public of Halton good value for money.
• The current scheme should be amended to provide for the payment of allowances to co-opted members of the Council's boards/committees in the annual sum of £500 each pro rata.
• The current scheme be further amended to confirm that the allowance payable to Halton Borough Council's member representatives on the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee is £5379.
• The current scheme shall remain in force as amended until 31 March 2028
