What is happening?

South East Water Region

Independent Water Networks Ltd (IWNL) gives notice that, pursuant to sections 76 and 76A-C of the Water Industry Act 1991, the following uses of water supplied by IWNL are restricted.

1.Water a garden using a hosepipe

2.Cleaning a private motor-vehicle using a hosepipe

3. Watering plants on domestic or other non-commercial premises using a hosepipe

4.Cleaning a private leisure boat using a hosepipe

5.Filling or maintaining a domestic swimming or paddling pool

6.Drawing water, using a hosepipe, for domestic recreational use

7. Filling or maintaining a domestic pond using a hosepipe

8.Filling or maintaining an ornamental fountain

9.Cleaning walls, or windows, or a domestic premises using a hosepipe

10.Cleaning paths or patios using a hosepipe

11. Cleaning other artificial outdoor surfaces using a hosepipe

This notice, and further details concerning the prohibitions, current drought and water efficiency advice maybe foundon IWNL’s website at https://www.iwnl.co.uk/homeowners/drought-measures/Water restrictions will start at 00:01 on 3 July 2026 and continue until further notification.

There strictions apply in the areas of supply of Appledore Road (TN30), Ashford Road (TN26), Benenden Hospital (South Parcel) (TN17), Blackfriars (TN33), Brick Kiln Lane (TN17), Broad Oak Farm (CT2), Chilmington Green (TN23), Church Road, Otham (ME15), Cockering Road, Canterbury (CT1), Ditton Edge (ME20), Farleigh Hill (ME15), Front Road (TN26), Greenhill Road (West) (CT6), Hermitage Lane 1 (ME20), Hermitage Lane 2 (ME16), Hermitage Lane 3 (ME16), Highgate Hill (TN18), Kings Hill (Areas 5.2 & 5.3) (ME19), Kings Hill (Phase 5 Area 5.1) (ME19), Kings Hill (Phase 5 Area 5.6) (ME19), Lady Dane Farm (Phase 2) (ME13), Lady Dane Farm, Love Lane (ME13), Lower Herne Road (Phase 1) (CT6), Lower Herne Road (Phase 2) (CT6), Newtown Works (TN24), Northwood, Herne Bay (CT6), Osborne Gardens (CT6), Sportsman’s Farm(ME19),Steel Cross(TN6),Sutton Road(ME17), Thanet Way (CT5), The Driving Range (Herne Bay Parcel 1) (CT6), Upper Worsham Farm (TN40), Walshes Road (Phase1)(TN6),WalshesRoad(TN6),WinterfieldLane(ME19),Worrall Drive (Phase 3) (ME1).
